Emiliano and Junior are brothers facing the same unimaginable fight. At just 4 months old, Junior was diagnosed with Leigh syndrome, a rare and devastating mitochondrial disease, which was unknowingly passed down maternally. Soon after, we tested Emiliano and learned he is fighting the same battle. Right now, they are both miraculously asymptomatic. Both laughing, growing, and showing incredible strength every day. But this disease is unpredictable, and we know how quickly everything could change. That’s why we are fighting now, while we still have time. There is hope and a real chance at changing their future, but we cannot do it alone. Emiliano is smart, funny, adventurous, and loving. Junior is silly, strong, and just as full of love. Both are determined. Both are beating the odds. Both deserve the chance to live full, healthy lives. Please help us give them that chance.
