About Mighty Junior
At just 5 months old, our sweet Junior has already shown us more strength and personality than we ever imagined possible. He lights up the room with his expressions, his little sounds, and the way he grips your finger so tight. He is deeply loved, and he is a fighter. Recently, at 4 months old our family received devastating news. After believing Junior had a different condition, further testing revealed that he has Mitochondrial DNA-Associated Leigh syndrome — a rare and serious diagnosis that has completely changed the road ahead for him and for our family. The doctors have given us difficult news, but we are choosing hope. And while we feel lucky he was diagnosed from the newborn screening rather than the alternative, we still have work to do to ensure the best life for our boy. We believe Junior’s life is precious, purposeful, and worth fighting for. Our focus now is making sure he receives the very best care and treatment possible. No family should ever have to endure facing such a difficult and heartbreaking road for their child. A cure is possible! We can do it together.
